Associate Attorney
Rachel N. Hanson joined Thurswell Law as an associate attorney in November 2018. She litigates and settles cases of medical malpractice, wrongful death, and other personal injury matters. Ms. Hanson is fully aware of the gravity of the cases she takes on and her responsibility to help victims receive the fair treatment and settlement they deserve. She handles her clients with great care, all while working tenaciously on their behalf.
“I am available for my clients and all times and work to ensure they receive the best representation possible,” Ms. Hanson says. “I love the opportunity to represent people who would otherwise be voiceless. It is an immense honor to help change peoples’ lives for the better and help them recover from past wrongs.”
Ms. Hanson earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University and her J.D. from Vermont Law School, where she was the managing editor of the Vermont Law Review and published a law review note on animal welfare standards. She taught a class on legal writing to first-year law students and worked with the legal writing department at Vermont Law School as a teaching assistant in advanced writing courses.
Also, while earning her law degree, Ms. Hanson served as vice president of Barristers Book Store Board of Directors and as an executive board member of the Vermont Law School Moot Court Advisory Board. She participated in the Debevoise Moot Court Competition at Vermont Law School and sharpened her skills working side-by-side with clients as an Advanced Student Attorney in a non-profit legal clinic at Vermont Law School, where she litigated cases in both state and federal courts.
Ms. Hanson was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 2018. She speaks conversational Spanish. A resident of Lathrup Village, she likes to spend time with her family, hike with her dog, and read.
